TheIPBox is the central hub of a circular economy ecosystem that brings research into real-world network infrastructure, working with a group of partners who share the same direction while focusing on different parts of the system.
TheIPBox develops and patents technologies, while its partners, first and foremost Wirem and INET Sistemas Inalámbricos, bring those technologies into production.
The work carried out by TheIPBox generates intellectual property, an intangible asset that is fundamentally different from physical infrastructure made up of networks, towers and cables. This is precisely where the system becomes self-sustaining: research generates intellectual property, intellectual property becomes infrastructure in the field, and that infrastructure generates new needs that drive further research.
Wirem develops connectivity infrastructures and services, bringing high-performance networks to places where traditional solutions cannot reach.
IP4WISP supports Internet Service Providers and network operators in developing independent infrastructure, providing the expertise and resources needed to manage IP addresses and evolve their networks. It is also one of the starting points of the entire ecosystem: both INET Sistemas Inalámbricos and TheIPBox originated here, at different points in time. Today, it continues to provide the other players in the ecosystem with digital resources.
Based in Fuerteventura, INET Sistemas Inalámbricos develops telecommunications infrastructure and connectivity services with the same goal: delivering high-performance networks where traditional infrastructure cannot reach. It is the operational side of the ecosystem, bringing to the Canary Islands what TheIPBox develops upstream.
Other organisations within the same ecosystem revolve around these partners, while TheIPBox remains the point from which everything starts.
